  • Winter (December to February): Best for experiencing snow, winter sports like skiing in Gulmarg, and enjoying the serene, snowy landscapes.

2. Clothing:

  • Summer: Light, breathable clothing with some warm layers for cooler evenings.

  • Winter: Heavy woolens, thermal wear, and good quality winter jackets. Don't forget gloves, scarves, and warm socks.

  • Footwear: Comfortable walking shoes for sightseeing and sturdy boots for trekking or walking in snow.

3. Shopping: Buy authentic Pashmina shawls, saffron, dry fruits, and local handicrafts.

 

4. Food: Try local Kashmiri cuisine, such as Rogan Josh, Yakhni, Dum Aloo, and Wazwan dishes. Kashmiri Kahwa or Kashmiri Tea made from                  spices is a must try.

5. Unique experience: Staying on a houseboat on Dal Lake or Nigeen Lake in Srinagar is a unique experience.
